Meet the founders
In January 2020, two life-long friends, Elliott and Lawrence, set out to shake up the world of life sciences by creating ARTO. The dynamic spark of their friendship is what gives ARTO its infectious energy.
A glimpse into our story
Where it all began…
Elliot and Lawrence first met when they were three. Ask them (or their families) and they’ll say a future in business together was inevitable.
In fact, the duo first started plotting a joint business venture while in their sixth form canteen. Back then, they didn’t know what kind of company it was going to be, but they always knew it would be something they built together. They’re now living their childhood dream and loving every minute of creating their own story.
The idea for ARTO developed as they were rising through the ranks together at a global talent agency. They saw a way to take their energy and enthusiasm, and channel it into creating a niche and dynamic hiring experience for the life sciences sector around the world.
With very complimentary skills, they’re both advocates of adding individual flair to the industry. They created ARTO to counteract the trend for making hiring talent a robotic process.
Launching on the cusp of pandemic certainly put their theory to the test. But by the second year in business ARTO had 20 staff and a fast-growing community of clients and candidates.

Meet the senior team
Elliot leads ARTO’s Permanent Division, delivering senior and executive hires across the UK, EU, and US. With over 10 years’ experience, he has built a trusted network and driven ARTO’s growth through consistent, high-impact placements as well as training our consultants. Known for his consultative approach, Elliot is committed to partnerships that deliver measurable results with several clients using him for 5-10 years now.
Lawrence specialises in high-stakes Life Sciences searches, connecting talent, clients, and venture capital firms through trusted partnerships. With 10+ years’ experience, he delivers global hiring strategies and lasting relationships. As host of Leading Beyond the Lab, he drives thought leadership and community within the sector.
Tom heads ARTO’s Contracts Division, delivering specialist interim and project hires across Life Sciences in the UK, EU, and US. With over a decade in recruitment, he leads a high-performing team known for speed, precision, and market insight. Tom also hosts Making It in Manufacturing, sharing perspectives from industry leaders.
Megan is ARTO’s Customer Success & Events Manager, focused on strengthening relationships with key clients across the life sciences sector. She helps clients maximise value from their partnerships with ARTO, delivering tailored engagement through strategic check-ins, referrals, and standout events.
Drawing on extensive recruitment experience, Megan combines market insight with a passion for building communities that fuel client growth. Having successfully partnered with clients on senior hires and complex multi-hire projects, Megan has now launched ARTO’s first dedicated Customer Success function, driving initiatives that enhance client loyalty, unlock new opportunities, and create high-impact experiences that drive long-term value.
Charlie joined ARTO in March 2021 and has been promoted mutliple times to reach his current role. After working several sales roles at university while studying towards a first-class marketing degree, he was approached to join ARTO. Charlie accepted immediately after being sold into the company's vision and leadership.
Anna specialises in Executive Medical Affairs recruitment across both biotech and pharma, partnering with companies at the forefront of rare disease innovation. She supports senior hiring across the US, delivering high-impact talent from MSL team build-outs to CMO's and Head of departmental leadership.
With four years of cross-continental experience, Anna notably led ARTO's whole European Function, before now being entrusted to establish a Medical Affairs practice in the US. Her speed and precision are powered by a global network and deep market insight.
Clients value Anna’s ability to move fast, engage top-tier talent, and act as a trusted advisor on strategic hiring. Personally driven by a connection to rare disease, she brings exceptional commitment to every partnership and focused on making an impact in whatever way possible.
Moving from France to the UK & joining Arto . . . David has never looked back. David had the goal of a career in the sales space, and brought this to fruition in 2022 when he said goodbye to his hotel job, and hello to ARTO. Working in sales allows David to connect with new individuals on a daily basis.
Jamie joined ARTO in one of our graduate cohorts and was attracted by recruitment's exciting and vibrant workspace. Sport is close to Jamie's heart; captaining the local Canterbury rugby team and completing his MSC in Sport and Exercise Science before joining ARTO. Jamie specialises in Clinical Development In Europe.
In December 2020, ARTO was ready to make its first hire, and Bethany joined the business. Previously, Bethany worked in an events role but decided to enter the recruitment world. However, after a year of testing the recruitment waters, Bethany transitioned to operations and now deals with the day-to-day running of our business. Earlier this year, Bethany was promoted to Head Of Operations, managing the operations at ARTO and setting development goals for our team members to aspire towards.
Danniella serves as Talent and Growth Executive at ARTO Talent, leading the strategic development of the company's recruitment consulting team. Focusing on building exceptional talent acquisition capabilities, Danniella oversees the hiring, development, coaching, and training of recruitment consultants across the organisation.
In this role, Danniella combines expertise in talent management with a deep understanding of the recruitment industry to drive both individual consultant success and organisational growth. Danniella is responsible for identifying top recruitment talent, designing comprehensive development programs, and implementing coaching strategies that enhance consultant performance and career progression.
Danniella's approach to talent development emphasises both technical recruitment skills and professional growth, ensuring ARTO Talent's consultants are equipped to deliver exceptional results for clients while building rewarding careers in the recruitment field.
In this role, Danniella combines expertise in talent management with a deep understanding of the recruitment industry to drive both individual consultant success and organisational growth. Danniella is responsible for identifying top recruitment talent, designing comprehensive development programs, and implementing coaching strategies that enhance consultant performance and career progression.

William is a Marketing Assistant at ARTO, supporting strategic marketing initiatives and digital content execution. With four years' experience in marketing, he specialises in creating high-impact content tailored to the Life Sciences sector.
William leads the production of ARTO’s two flagship podcast series, Leading Beyond the Lab and Making It in Manufacturing, overseeing it's end-to-end production. His strong creative direction and attention to detail have helped position the podcasts as standout thought leadership platforms in the industry.
Driven by a deep understanding of the sector and a results-first mindset, William plays a key role in elevating ARTO’s brand presence and audience engagement across digital channels.
Éoin is a Senior Life Sciences Consultant and EU Medical Affairs Lead, specialising in strategic hiring across the DACH region. He partners with leading pharma and MedTech companies to deliver top-tier Medical Affairs and Commercial talent, from MSL build-outs to senior leadership roles.
With a background in high performance, Éoin has built a reputation for scaling niche teams quickly and precisely, achieving nomination for the 2024 Director’s Award and is part of ARTO’s Pathway to Leadership team. His approach is shaped by a deep commitment to continuous improvement combined with trusted counsel and sharp market insight.
With 10+ years' experience, Olly leads marketing strategy and execution at ARTO, driving brand positioning, client engagement, and digital growth. He has built ARTO’s marketing function from the ground up. Olly focuses on creating a premium experience across every touchpoint, supporting commercial growth through smart, creative, and consistent storytelling.
Isabel leads ARTO’s search work across Medical Affairs and Commercial functions in Europe, with a focus on mid-to-executive level roles in the DACH region. With 4+ years of experience, she partners with global pharma and biotech companies to deliver complex, cross-border searches. Isabel is known for her transparent, insight-led approach and her ability to connect specialist talent with forward-thinking teams in highly regulated environments.
